AMATE is a voluntary non-governmental non-profit independent association of teacher educators. Its main target is to contribute to the improvement of foreign language teaching on all types of school in the Czech Republic.

AMATE´s objectives are:

1. … to create conditions for further professional development of all members of the association and to support their mutual cooperation,

2. … to contribute to a working system of further professional development of teachers and to assure the quality of both pre- and post-gradual courses,

3. … to offer professional support and expertise to the Ministry of Education, Pedagogical Centres and other educational institutions,

4. … to establish and maintain contacts with other educational institutions, both in the CR and abroad, and to co-act together on projects,

5. … to uphold official acknowledgement of the profession of teacher educators.
